John Randolph Logan (April 10, 1811 - April 14, 1884) was buried with his second wife Harriet Emily Allison Logan (July 23, 1833 - November 16, 1905) in the Old 1 section of the very large Sunset Cemetery in the town of Shelby in Cleveland County, North Carolina. He was the grandson of William Logan who was one of the four Logan brothers that fought in the Battle of King's Mountain. during the American Revolutionary War. Much of what we know about the four Logan brothers comes from John Randolph Logan's correspondence with Lyman Draper that is preserved in the Draper Manuscript Collection.
