Other Logan Documents

The following are copies of documents relating to various Logans from Rutherford, Lincoln, or Cleveland Counties of North Carolina. I obtained each of these documents from the North Carolina State Archives in Raleigh, NC. As far as I know I am not closely related to any of these Logans, but am sharing these documents in case others may be interested in them. Contact me if you know specifically who these individuals are and I will add the details to this web page.

• Will of Catherine Logan (1810) (14.1MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. Probably the daughter of James Logan.
• Will of Felix Logan (1870) (8.6MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. Probably Felix Logan (1794-1870), son of Andrew Logan (1771-1840), grandson of Francis Logan (1734-1826).
• Will of James Logan (1800) (20.8MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. May be the James Logan who appeared frequently in the Tryon County court and land records.
• Will of John Logan, Sr. (1841) (2.7MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. Probably John Logan (1775-1842), son of Francis Logan (1734-1826).
• Will of Larkin Logan (1824) (6.9MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. Said to be the son of John Logan who was one of the four Logan brothers who fought at King's Mountain.
• Will of Mary Logan (1813) (9.0MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. Probably the wife of James Logan.
• Will of Moses Logan (1864) (5.4MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. This is probably Moses Logan (1770-1866), son of Francis Logan (1734-1826).
• Will of Rachel Logan (1808) (2.7MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Wills: C.R.086.801.21) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. Probably the daughter of James Logan.
• Will of William Logan (1887) (0.6MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Cleveland County Wills: C.R.026.801.7) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will.
• Estate of Moses Logan (1869) (4.1MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Estates: C.R.086.508.59) This is a scanned photocopy of the original will. Probably Moses Logan (1770-1866), son of Francis Logan (1734-1826).
• Marriage Bond of Drury Logan and Polly Bias (1805) (3.0MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Lincoln County Marriage Bonds) This is a copy of the marriage bond taken from microfilm, but the original marriage bond also exists in the NC State Archives. This Drury Logan was likely a son of Thomas Logan who was one of the four Logan brothers that fought in the battle of King's Mountain. (alternate copy)
• Marriage Bond of Reubin Logan and Rachel Moore (1794) (2.7MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: Rutherford County Marriage Bonds) This is a copy of the marriage bond taken from microfilm, but the original marriage bond also exists in the NC State Archives. Reubin Logan was likely the son of Joseph Logan who was one of the Logan brothers who fought in the battle of King's Mountain. Rachel Moore was the daughter of Aaron Moore and Rachel Lawrence.

• Petition of John Logan (1827) (5.7MB PDF file) (NC State Archives: General Assembly Session Records, Nov. 1827 - Jan. 1828, Box 5, folder "HCR (Propositions and Grievances)"). These are photographs of the petition taken on 2 August 2012. This petition is thought to be from John Logan who was one of the four Logan brothers that fought in the battle of King's Mountain.
